Football, basketball and volleyball — teaching teamwork and leadership on the court and field.
NMB Organization provides sports, tutoring, mentoring and health education to youth and families in Gainesville's public housing communities — free, year-round, and rooted in integrity.
Nettie Mae Berry — the grandmother whose name this organization carries.
NMB stands for Nettie Mae Berry — the grandmother who raised our CEO, Tandra Simmons. Tandra knows firsthand how much it matters to have someone in your corner to motivate and inspire you. To honor her grandmother, she made it her mission to give back, empower, and connect youth to the resources they need to reach their full potential.
To provide innovative, comprehensive, culturally sensitive services that positively impact the lives of youth and families.
Started in March 2010 as a basketball and tutoring program, and grown to meet the wider needs of Alachua County youth.
Integrity — we stand on it, and we teach our youth to uphold it in every aspect of life.
Football, basketball and volleyball — teaching teamwork and leadership on the court and field.
After-school tutoring in public housing communities, developing youth academically and socially.
Practical health education across Alachua County so youth can make healthy choices for life.
Every program carries a mentoring aspect — extra support, extra resources, extra belief.
In partnership with the Gainesville Housing Authority, our after-school program has served youth at Tiger Bay for years — raising academic and social performance where families already live.
Every program has volunteer openings — coaching, tutoring, event help. Join the team that shows up for these kids each week.

Tony Brooks-James has volunteered with NMB since he was a student at GHS — and kept flying back from Oregon through college to be there for our youth. We're grateful to have him as a role model.
We love the work we do and the lives we get to impact. Without donors and grants, none of it happens. Give today and put resources directly into the hands of local youth.
